The food in the bistro was terrible. I didn't think that there could be bad chips but these were inedible.

Beautiful location, great food and nice rooms. Close to Donington Park race circuit where we were heading the next day. Nine of us in the party - all loved it.
One guest was in the cottage and the rooms aren't as good.

It was private and relaxing. Perfect for a romantic weekend. The setting of the river close to the hotel made for a great scene.
The charges of drinks in the bar was riduclously expensive. One glass of wine and half a bitter was nearly £14. I believe this to be verging on exploitation. It should not be a case of people who use the hotel being able to afford such prices but it just does not make sense. The bar was empty and devoid of atmosphere and I can see why!!

The staff here were super nice, professional, and really went out of their way to help us out. We ate at the brasserie on the first day and it was totally worth it — good food at a good price 👌. The location is spot on, close to a great restaurant and even a racecourse.

Nice location, good food and attentive staff.
We stayed in a cottage room. These are quite small and cramped and at some distance(in bad weather) from the main hotel.

1 the setting 2 the staff were very helpful and tried their best 3 Chris tried to move us into the main hotel and this could have happened but only for our first night and we didn't want to move for the second night (we booked our first night on Booked.net and the second on a cheaper rate as part of a wedding party)
1 the cottages - the room was small, dark, had no bath and was poorly lit 2 the very high price of alcohol 3 shortage of food at wedding barbecue 4 breakfast buffet on first day was slow to be replenished
